I’ve been thinking a lot about the future of computing. Right now, we force neural networks into digital-only architectures, but what if that’s the wrong box?
Imagine a home computer with two CPUs:
– a digital CPU for logic, precision, and application control
– an analog neural processor acting as a sensory pre-processor for vision, audio, and pattern recognition.
Just as GPUs transformed graphics, analog neural processors could transform perception — offering massive efficiency gains and more natural human-computer interaction.
I’ve drafted a short whitepaper outlining this vision, the challenges, and where it might take us.
